How to get to Siargao for the Philippines Pro
Siargao has one small airport and one main ferry port, and for eleven days this year, a good chunk of the surfing world wants to land on both.
The Philippines Pro presented by the Philippine Sports Commission runs at Cloud 9 from 31 October to 10 November 2026, the first World Surf League Championship Tour event ever held in the Philippines. Seats and rooms run out. So here's how to get to Siargao for the event, starting with the part that catches people out.

There is no longer a direct Manila flight
If your last trip to Siargao started with a direct flight from Manila, that route is unfortunately gone. On March 29, 2026, turboprop services left NAIA for Clark under a Manila Slot Coordination Committee directive. Cebu Pacific says it plainly in its own help centre: there are no direct flights from Manila to Siargao anymore.

Philippine Airlines moved its Siargao flights to Clark in the same shift, then suspended the Clark route from 4 May 2026 with no restart announced. So Clark to Siargao now means Cebgo or Sunlight Air.
That leaves two ways onto the island. Fly into Sayak Airport (code IAO) at Del Carmen on the western side and drive across to General Luna, or fly to Surigao City on the mainland and cross by sea.

Flights to Siargao all land at Sayak
Sayak takes turboprops only. The planes are small and the schedule is thin, so one cancelled flight tends to shove a whole day's worth of passengers onto tomorrow. Keep that in mind when you're cutting it close to a heat you want to watch.

From Manila, via Clark
Cebgo and Sunlight Air both fly Clark to Siargao, in a little over two and a half hours.
Cebgo runs it a couple of times a day; Sunlight a few times a week (it trimmed the route during the 2026 fuel squeeze), so check live seats before you commit. Then there's the ground time from Manila out to Clark. People underestimate it every time, and it's the most common way to miss this flight.

From Cebu and Davao
Cebu is the easy way in. Three carriers fly it, Cebgo, PAL Express, and Sunlight Air, with lots of daily flights and a run of about 55 minutes. Flying in from abroad? Route through Cebu.
Davao is Cebgo only, roughly an hour and 15 minutes, and daily right now but thin. Handy if Cebu is full, but check the actual schedule rather than assuming tomorrow has a seat.

The ferry route, and when it's worth taking
Fly into Surigao City, then cross to Dapa Port. Evaristo & Sons runs a fastcraft in about an hour and a half; JP Shipping Lines takes closer to two and a half. The RORO ferry runs around three hours for less money. From Dapa, it's another road transfer to General Luna.
No one takes this for the scenery. You pick it because the flights sold out or got cancelled, which in a WSL Siargao window is a real possibility. Worth keeping in your back pocket.

Siargao Airport to General Luna
Because Sayak is on the far side of Siargao from the surf, your trip isn't over when you land. Everyone makes the same Siargao airport to General Luna run, about 30 kilometres, 45 minutes to an hour depending on the road.
A shared van is the cheap way, around 300 to 400 pesos a person, leaving once it's full. A private van is around 2,500 pesos for up to four people, more for bigger vehicles. After a long travel day or a late landing, it's money well spent.

Three things that help:
- Bring cash. Cards aren't widely accepted at the airport or on transfers, and some local fees are cash only.
- Pre-book the transfer for event week. Shared vans fill fast when a full flight lands and everyone wants the same ride.
- Write down your accommodation address. Habal-habal drivers know General Luna, but not your booking reference.

If you're bringing a board, check the length
Check your board length first. Cebu Pacific allows 9 feet on jets and 6 feet on ATR turboprops, and every Sayak flight is a turboprop. Anything over 6 feet is out, which catches mid lengths as well as longboards.
Then check the space. Cebu Pacific caps surfboard slots per flight and says they are tightest on Cebgo, which is the airline flying you in. Book the board when you book the seat, not the week before.

The rest of it: one board per passenger, 20 kg including the case, fins, leash, and straps, and a special baggage fee on each domestic leg. You add it in the CEB app. There is no counter option, and the board has to be in a case or a protective cover or they won't accept it.
Philippine Airlines runs boards as excess baggage on different terms. Read both before you pay for anything: Cebu Pacific special baggage and Philippine Airlines sports equipment.

Where to stay in Siargao once you land
General Luna is where the surf, the food, and the island-hop boats are. It's also where the competition is. Stay anywhere else and you add a road trip to the start and end of every day, which wears thin fast at an event built on dawn starts. That is the short answer to where to stay in Siargao for this one.
General Luna Siargao hotels fill first for that reason, so Siargao accommodation for this window is worth locking in now. Siargao hotels further out will have space for longer, but you spend the difference getting back and forth.

If you want a hotel in Siargao General Luna that puts you on the right side of the island for this, Hue Hotels and Resorts Siargao is on Tourism Road in Brgy.
