The event

From the Siargao International Surfing Cup to the Championship Tour

If you have followed the Siargao International Surfing Cup, this is the same surfing competition at the same reef, under a new name. The Cup first ran at Cloud 9 in 1996 and joined the qualifying circuit in 2014. In July 2026 the World Surf League raised Cloud 9 to a full Championship Tour stop and renamed it the Philippines Pro, for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.


The upgrade changes who turns up. A qualifying event brings surfers chasing points. This one brings the World Title contenders, at Stop 11 of 13, with the season nearly decided. It is the first Championship Tour event ever held in the Philippines.

Where to watch

Hue sits right in front of Cloud 9, so staying guests can watch every heat for free without leaving the resort. Catch the action from the roof deck, over drinks and bites at Dayána, or from the pool.


  • Mornings are best, when the wind is lightest and the water cleanest, so plan an early start on the roof deck.
  • Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and a camera for your time out in the sun.
  • No heats run on a lay day, so check the official channels before settling in.

How the schedule works

Eleven days is a waiting period, not a timetable

Organisers do not run heats every day. They watch the forecast, call competition on the cleanest swell, and the finals usually land toward the end. Nobody knows the finals date until a few days out.


So you cannot plan around a fixed day. Several nights inside the window is the only way to be confident of catching the rounds that matter. Our WSL guest rate covers 25 October to 10 November, the full waiting period and the finals with it. Book it by 1 November.

Late October and early November sit at the heart of the Siargao surf season, when long period groundswell reaches the reef.

Heats will not run every day. When the forecast goes flat there is an infinity pool, a cave pool, a roofdeck, and the lagoons and island hops within reach. A waiting period is easier from a property you want to be at.



The cave pool is open to visitors as well as guests, so you are welcome for the day even if you are staying elsewhere.
