What the Partnership Covers

Across the competition window, Hue Siargao will be the base for WSL athletes, partners, guests, and stakeholders. We will also host a number of key WSL events and functions during the Philippines Pro.

The resort is part of the broadcast, too. The WSL has confirmed a "Hue Hotel Cam" and a dedicated sideline segment on each run day, running alongside social integrations through the event window. So if you're watching from Manila, Sydney, or California, you'll catch a glimpse of us between heats.

How Cloud 9 Joined the Championship Tour

Surfers have competed on this reef for three decades. The Siargao International Surfing Cup began in 1996, and it grew through the Qualifying Series for years. By 2025 it was a QS 6,000 event with more than 180 surfers in the draw.

That changed in July. ABS-CBN News reported that Cloud 9 had been officially designated a World Surf League Championship Tour stop for the 2026 and 2027 seasons, with the Philippine Sports Commission involved in bringing the tour to the country. It is the first time the Championship Tour has come to the Philippines.

So the Siargao surfing competition locals have grown up watching now sits on the same calendar as the sport's biggest names. WSL APAC President Andrew Stark put it simply: "Siargao is the newest place on the Championship Tour, and we're incredibly excited to welcome Hue Hotels & Resorts Siargao as an Official Partner of the World Surf League and the Philippines CT event."

The WSL plans to use this World Surf League Siargao stop to keep "helping shine an even greater spotlight on Siargao and the Philippines," in Stark's words. We plan to help.

The View From the Bluff

For Stark, the choice came down to the view of Cloud 9. With that view, he said, "this partnership makes total sense to us."

The WSL describes Hue Siargao as perched on a bluff overlooking the peak at Cloud 9, with an infinity pool and rooftop that look straight out at the break. On a clean morning in November, that's a front row seat with a cold drink in hand.

The WSL release also mentions a dedicated surfboard rack and a fitness centre with a recovery room, which will matter to anyone surfing the reef on the free days around the contest.

The rest of island living carries on around the event. Our cave pool stays open to all. Coastal cuisine comes out of the kitchen around the Dalakit tree. The Bright Buds Play Club keeps younger guests busy, and the coworking space is there for anyone who has to answer emails between heats. Watching the Philippines Pro 2026

The Philippines Pro 2026 runs from 31 October to 10 November. Treat those dates as a waiting period. Heats run when the swell cooperates, and the finals can land on any day inside the window, often near the end of it.
